Sterling silver sheet, mill rolled from ingot, drawn wire and hand-made fluted buttons with copper wire loops.
Ingot sheet for the doll bodies was first cut to shape. At least 6 hand-cut stamps were used in detailing faces and body decorations before each doll pendant was repousseed to create a lively relief. A supportive silver brace was soldered to the center body in the back for strength through this shaping process.
Earwires are made of drawn wire to which old, fluted silver buttons have been soldered. Buttons were made of ingot sheet shaped with a male/female hand-cut die.
Beyond dear, these beautiful little dolls with smiling faces are very rare. With their tiny arms offering a greeting embrace, the silhouettes of these sweet figures and their decorated skirt hems become squash blossoms.
