Sterling sheet and wire were made from ingot to fabricate the body and decoration of this ornate and very large ring. Amid hand-crafted leaves with stamp detailing, tendrills of coiled wire and smelted drops, the artist nested a fine natural Persian turquoise stone flanked by a deep orange coral specimen on each side.
The turquoise is an old cut with high dome 1/2" X 3/8" rising above its hand-cut serrated bezel by 1/8". The natural coral is free form with a wonderful satin finish.
This is one of the largest sized rings we have ever handled and quite uncommon. Because the foliage design extends to a bit beyond entire front half of its circumference, there is a limit to its potential downsizing without causing distortion. That boundary lies between sizes 14 to 12.
Yes, this ring is "all meat and no potatoes" !
