Unknown Taxco artist with stamped FMS and eagle 3 marks.
The face carving follows near classic pre-colonial Aztec facial representations. Deeply sculpted, the head with its strong features, is actually "set" in place by clever use of a cleverly crafted silver cap, collar and ear pieces. The cap and collar are inlaid with the same green stone, pieced and/or crushed.
