Sterling silver mill-rolled sheet and half round wire were used in fabricating the components and beads of this necklace. Half-round wire was used to create the armature of the naja and the loops through which the blossoms were strung into the necklace.
The shell-shaped ornaments were scored repeatedly with a single chisel-edged stamp, then repoussed. All the turquoise was hand cut.
There are 18 natural deep blue rectangular and square stones. The tops have a natural convoluted surface, which is highly polished, following the original nugget shape. These range in size from 1/2" X 1/4" to 1/4" square.
All beads are hand made in two parts and assembled with a seam.
"Unknown artist" is appropriate when a work of art is unsigned and a supported opinion about who made it is not available (on Savvy Collector).. "Attributed to" precedes the name of an artist when information suggests that it likely was made by that artist (on Savvy Collector).
