Smelted sterling silver was poured into a hand-carved tufa stone mold. After the casting was removed from the stone, it was then filed to remove flashings and to refine details as well as smooth edges. The surface was then further refined by sanding and a final polishing.
This bracelet, unlike many tufa cast pieces, is quite fine in detail and symmetry and surface. It almost looks like sheet work cut and "dusted" with silver filings for textures. The even thickness and overall consistent finish are skilled accomplishments seen only in the work of a select few artists within the last 50-60 years.
"Unknown artist" is appropriate when a work of art is unsigned and a supported opinion about who made it is not available (on Savvy Collector).. "Attributed to" precedes the name of an artist when information suggests that it likely was made by that artist (on Savvy Collector).
