About the Artist | (Born 1950, Comanche heritage) Elected chairman of the Comanche Nation in 1985, Ron Burgess majored in art education at the University of Central Oklahoma after which he went to Arizona State University, earning a master's degree in Indian education. Burgess earned other degrees while attending the University of Oklahoma, Landford University and El Reno College. To make a living he worked as a teacher or in administration over the years. In 2007 he retired and moved to Cochiti Lake, New Mexico, at which time he returned to making art. |
