About the Artist | (Born 1945, Italian) Born in Naples in 1945, Aprea graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome in 1968. She has lived in Milan since 1970. 15th century Italian artists Antonio and Piero Pollaiuolo influenced her pacing of compositional elements to which she added a macabre surrealistic inflection. A comprehensive monograph consisting of 208 pages titled Angels and Devils in Search of an Author was produced in 1992. Three subsequent exhibition catalogues were created respectively in 1995, 2002 and 2004. The last of these corresponded to a solo exhibition at the Galerie Bertrand Kass located in Innsbruck, Austria. |
