About the Artist | (Born circa 1964) Virginia Lucero, from Jemez Pueblo, a member of the Fire Clan prepares natural clay in the traditional way. She paints her colorful storytellers with vegetal and mineral pigments, firing her pottery figures outdoors in a pit with cedar chips. As the storyteller and her children are sing, we are engaged to sing and smile along with them. Virginia is cited in Gregory Schaaf's book of Southern Pueblo Pottery 2,000 Artist Biographies. |
