About The Long Braids
This girl's solemn face is framed by her center parted hair that finishes with a long braid on either side. She is cloaked by a lightly textured cape that is punctuated by inset oval shapes.
(Born 1959) This Navajo sculptor has been working in alabaster for over twenty years. In 1983 he was named "Best Sculptor of the Year" by the Heard Museum in Arizona. Mr. Marshall served an apprenticeship under another notable Navajo artist, Oreland Joe. In 2001 he was included in the Rising Stars exhibit at the Desert Caballeros Museum in Wickenburg, Arizona.
