Wicker baskets, made from native vegetal fibers and mineral and vegetal dyes, are produced at Third Mesa villages, including Oraibi, Kykotsmovi and Hotevilla in northeastern Arizona. About Tewa Hopi -
In the 17th century many Tewas left the pueblos of what is now New Mexico and joined the Hopis, settling at Hano at First Mesa, where they continued their tradition of fine pottery. On what is now known as the Hopi reservation in Arizona, potters use stylized parrot, rain and cloud designs to decorate polychrome bowls, jars and canteens.
