This large fanciful celebration of curving shalako maidens framing a terraced ceremonial bowl is in stark contrast to the painter/ carver's typical rather stern kachinas.
(1953-2011, Hopi) Reginald Dallas was from the Moencopi area of the Hopi reservation. His early childhood years were spent in the Jeddito Valley. Reggie was self-employed, carving kachina dolls.
His work has been featured in magazines. He is pictured in Gregory Schaaf's book Hopi Katsina 1,600 Artist Biographies holding one of his carvings.
