Sometimes it is easy to tell an artist's love for their subject matter.

(Born 1932) Myrna Harrison was destined to be an artist. Her father was an animator and director at Screen Gems, the animated cartoon division of Columbia Pictures. Myrna's mother was a hat designer.

From the age of 14 to 18 she attended Music and Art High School in New York City.  Following attending the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, she came back to New York first studying with Jack Tworkov and later at the Hans Hofmann School of Fine Arts in New York City and Provincetown in Massachusetts.  

After years of work teaching art in California, Harrison moved to Phoenix in 1980 to become President of Rio Salado Community College, Gateway Community College and Phoenix College, she retired in 1993, moving to Wickenburg.  

Harrison has enjoyed many solo exhibitions at commercial galleries in both Arizona and Massachusetts. Her work is currently carried by the Gold Nuggett Gallery in Wickenburg, Arizona; the Beauregard Gallery in Rumson, New Jersey and the James Ratliff Gallery in Sedona, Arizona.
