Sterling silver and copper sheet mill rolled from ingot, were used to create the buckle and conchos. A single strap of copper sheet was soldered to each concho for fastening to the leather belt strap. Drawn silver wire was soldered to the buckle, serving as attachment bar for both leather belt and a silver wire tongue
Decoration of the buckle consists of repousse and stamped designs utilizing at least seven unique hand-cut steel stamps. Each concho has a radiant repousse focal point center created with a male female die of hand-carved steel. This ornament is part of a domed center framed by a chisel outlined "rope twist" of angled file stamp lines. Beyond that is a scalloped edge defined by a beaded crescent and a ringed dot stamp alternating. These last two stamps were also repeated in the buckle linking them to the same creator.
This more than 90 year old precious accessory still has all the beauty of its youth. Its quiet, traditional elegance will add the finishing touch whether worn with denim or velvet.
