This engraving is after Jules Tavernier's painting.

About the Artist (1844-1889, French)  Tavernier was a student of Barrias and exhibited at the Paris Salon between 1865 and 1870 .  A painter and a pastel artist, he was known for his genre scenes as well as for landscapes.
