Cherished White Face Hereford Bola Tie & Buckle Set

Lincoln Zunie

About The Cherished White Face Hereford Bola Tie & Buckle Set

Made by Lincoln & Helen Zunie

Mill-rolled ingot silver sheet and drawn wire were used to fabricate the channel framework for inlay in both the bola tie and buckle in this matched set.  A commercial Bennett clip was supplied for the tie and hinged bar was used for the buckle.

The sweet-faced Herefords were created using a sunset red abalone shell, exterior for the red portions of the coat and ears.  Interior of the same shell was specially selected and cut for the horns.  White pearl shell-cut, carved and accented with a home-made paint gives life to each bovine beauty.  An intense, natural blue turquoise was used in the buckle border as well as each "headstall" indicating a prized creature of significant paternal stature.

Fine black leather lace was hand braided for the tie cord.
