- Known widely for their creation of ironwood sculptures, the Seri people's land runs along the East coast of the Gulf of California, just north of Kino Bay for approximately 80 miles. from Punta Chueca to Pozo Coyote. They live primarily on the Sonoran Desert.
We are told the word "Seri" means spry. Originally these people were nomadic fishers, hunters and gatherers. The Seri name for themselves is "Konkaak", meaning "The People".
