- There is an old trading post code on the back, XSYY. It was made with a hardened steel scribe, typically used by silversmiths to mark center and other crucial dimensions of silver sheet. The commercial round headed roller safety pin on the back was a later 1930's finding that helps to date this pin.

- About The Rainbow God Pin of Sterling Ingot
This graceful, slender "Rainbow God" is fabricated from hand mill rolled sterling ingot sheet and smelted silver drops. Finely filed serrated bezels artfully secure each hand cut, shaped and fitted inlay section of natural blue turquoise, deep orange abalone, white pearl shell and jet. Chisel-stamped crescent shell forms and silver "raindrops frame, as well as enliven, this figural symbol of life-giving rain.
With a joyous bend to his right, this Rainbow God seems to dance with all the happiness, the sight of a rainbow brings !
