|About the Artist||Robin John Anderson, figurative sculptor and painter of landscape, still lifes, and figurative subjects, was born in Phoenix, Arizona in 1951. As a youngster, Anderson loved to draw and paint. By the age of fourteen, he was paired with a painting mentor.
Anderson took a job with the Republic and Gazette engraving department in Phoenix Arizona and did illustrations for both of those Phoenix newspapers. At the age of twenty one he abandoned outside employment and became a full-time artist.
He took courses at the Art Students League in New York City over a period of nine years. He also studied at the New York Academy of Art.
Anderson has resided in Jerome, Arizona since the early 1990's. His generously-sized studio there is located in the Old Mingus Art Center.
