About the Artist | (Born 1969, Zuni) A graduate of the American College of Applied Art in Los Angeles, studying fashion design, Alan Lasiloo is a natural innovator. His dedication to using the white clay commonly associated with Zuni pottery shifted into an embrace of experimental firing techniques as well as utilization of micaceous clay. Subsequent to his return to Zuni pueblo in 1999, Lasiloo taught himself to make pottery. Eight years later, he entered his pottery into the Santa Fe Indian Market's competition. Awards and recognition serve to applaud his clay expressions. |
