Ceremony to the Eagle Spirit easily relates to Chant of the Buffalo Spirit by Swazo, illustrated in Clara Lee Tanner's Southwest Indian Painting (Figure 5.80, full page color). Tanner characterized Chant of the Buffalo Spirit as "One of Swazo's most magnificent creations, the epitome of all the artist's best characteristics", which was likely why she chose Swazo's painting for the cover of her book, 2nd edition.
