About the Artist | (1922-2016) Born in Oklahoma, Charles Walkingstick was a Cherokee individual who was both a commercial artist as well as a fine art artist. A Marine who served in World War II, Walkingstick was awarded a 1st place for his mixed media triptych at the 2005 National Veterans Creative Arts Festival. Two years later was earned a judges' award for an oil painting at the Red Earth Fine Art competition. |
