View Full Size Image of 1920's-1930's Cuff of Ingot Silver with Turquoise, Jewelry by Artist Unknown
Hammer stretched and mill-rolled ingot silver sheet, as well as high-grade blue Nevada turquoise, were used in the creation of this striking cuff. Decorative was adroitly executed with just three hand-carved steel stamps--an elongated, beaded crescent, a short radiant crescent and feather bundle resembling a squash blossom.
Five (5) graduated, oval cut, dusk blue turquoise are bezel set in a row spanning the entire front width. Space between and around these settings is filled with the feather bundle/ blossom stamp, leaving remaining surfaces to crescents described. Along the cuff edge, file work traces those stamp forms around the row of turquoise--giving added dimension to this attractive piece, made with a few unsophisticated tools.
