About the Artist | (1949-2014) Mission Cahuilla/ Apache Born in Santa Ana, California, Soza preferred to be known as a federal active in Native American causes. He reportedly served a total of eleven months in various federal institutions. Two pages with illustrations reference Soza in Jamake Highwater's The Sweet Grass Lives On: Fifty Contemporary Northern American Indian Artists. Another publication, Creativity Is Our Tradition Three Decades of Contemporary Indian Art at the Institute of American Indian Arts devotes two pages to Soza's art as well.
