About the Artist | (Born 1954) Rise grew up largely living in Albuquerque, NM. Earned his BFA in Painting and Drawing from Arizona State University as well as a MA from the University of New Mexico in 1977. The artist achieved his MFA in Painting and Drawing back at the University of New Mexico. Since 2005 he has taught drawing at the Savannah College of Art and Design. One of Rise's drawings was featured on the cover of the publication Drawing (summer issue 2014), which was accompanied by a corresponding feature article titled "Finding Meaning in the Manmade".
