"He was encouraged to make art in his youth by his grandfather and uncle. As a young man he has worked with Diné artists Don Whitesinger and Tony Abeyta.

Sheldon paints in both acrylics and oils on canvas, creating images that are sometimes representational, sometimes symbolic and always imaginative.
