(Born 1964, Zia pueblo) Marcellus Medina, the son of painter Rafael Medina (1929-1998), paints the traditions of his Zia Pueblo heritage. He aspires to continue in his father's footsteps with colorful portrayals of traditional Zia subjects. Often he painted figurative subjects on pottery surfaces, in addition to his brushwork on paper. |
