About the Artist | (1914-2006) Adopted by a Kiowa family, Riley Sunrise (Quoyavema) was a Hopi child born in Anadarko, Oklahoma. He has been both an actor and a painter. The following museums include his work in their permanent collections: Denver Art Museum, Gilcrease Institute in Tulsa, the Southwest Museum in California and the Museum of the American Indian in New York. |
