Polychrome Lizard Jar

Sylvia Naha

About The Polychrome Lizard Jar

Beeweed and native clay slips constitute the artist's paints in decorating this tapering form. Two large lizards are separated by two areas of cross hatching interrupted by a stylized wing design.  Each lizard is flanked with a single tadpole on either side.

Arms raised, these lizards seem to be reaching out for something.
