About the Artist | Born Crucita Calabaza at San Ildefonso pueblo, as a very young child Blue Corn was encouraged to make pottery. (1921-1999) Pottery making for this talented woman included experimentation with different colors of clay using different techniques and forms. She was especially known for her feather and cloud designs. In 1981 Blue Corn won the 8th Annual Governor's Award, New Mexico's highest artistic honor.
