About The Modernist Spider Cuff with Blue Morenci Turquoise

Made by Ramone Platero and Louise Platero (Navajo) jewelers working with Carl W. Luthy (hence the Luthy shop stamp).

Fabrication of the various gauges of ingot sheet and round wire was accomplished using hard and medium silver solders.  Initial appearance presents as a cleverly engineered abstraction.  When applied to a wrist, the quadruple curved shanks with their independent, hammer flattened terminals, clasp the wrist bones and arm with an uncommon ease of fit and perfection of balance.  These gracefully arched shank round wires, joined at the apex to each other, are then soldered to a heavy silver bar--providing juncture to both halves and platform for an intricately crafted, backed bezel.
