Sterling ingot was mill rolled into sheet for smooth-edged bezel material. Wire for the "tooth" and buckle bar were hand drawn from ingot as well.
Tufa stone was carved to create mold forms for the buckle and conchos. To each of these carvings another piece of tufa stone was wired creating a two-piece chamber into which molten silver was poured. The individual castings were then hand finished, a process involving removal of vent and sprew silver, filing and sanding. Soldering of bezels to castings and setting of turquoise were done prior to final polishing.
A replacement belt in a color or length of your choosing can be custom fashioned to your liking for an additional $75.00 to $100.00 (depending on the thickness of the leather).
The closed form open system design of these conchos is extremely difficult to accomplish in tufa casting.
