Sterling 10 Concho Belt in Red Coral

Johnson Todacheeny

About The Sterling 10 Concho Belt in Red Coral

Sterling silver mill rolled sheet ad drawn wire were used in the fabricate of conchos and buckle.

Each piece was hand cut, filed, decorated with hand-made stamping and chased to a 1/4" dome height. A serrated bezel 3/16" deep was soldered to the center of each concho to fit the exact shape of the coral to be set.  Copper straps were soldered to the conchos, as a means by which to fasten them to the leather.  A heavy wire "tooth" as well as a rivet-hinged swivel bar of silver were soldered to the buckle.

Natural red coral was carefully hand cut and polished following the form of its branch segment.  Average size is 9/16" X 1/2" with a rise of at least 1/8" above bezel.

Color is natural intense red with a glassine density that begs disbelief.  Each cabochon is matched perfectly to the others.
