Sterling silver smelted and poured into a mold hand carved in tufa stone was then filed and sanded smooth. Definition was refined and the design focal center was prepared for a single bezel setting. This setting was made from silver ingot, rolled into sheet, then cut and soldered.
High grade specimen of natural blue and green turquoise, from the Royston mine in Nevada, was carefully cut and polished. The free-form shape of the cabochon was dictated by the shape of the piece as it was mined from the earth.
