|About the Artist||(Born 1944) "As a child growing up in Chicago Mark Daily showed an early aptitude for art. He attended the Art Institute of Chicago's Junior School summer programs when he was 13 and 14. By participating in a local drawing competition, he won a scholarship to the American Academy of Art in Chicago.
Mark Daily left the academy after two and a half years and rented a studio with a buddy in Chicago. He served in the Army Reserves during Vietnam, later renting a studio in Taos, New Mexico. Daily stayed in New Mexico for twelve years painting, crediting his friendships with the artists who would be known as the "Denver School" for encouragement and support during this period.
Mark Daily went on to become an instructor at the Art Students' League of Denver. He has led workshops at Taos' Fechin Institute, La Jolla's Atheneum School of Arts, Chicago's Palette & Chisel Academy and at both the Disney and Dreamworks studios.
Daily has developed his own style and techniques over the course of his career. He credits his time at Disney and Dreamworks studios in the early 1990s for teaching him the value of development and preparation. Though he has spent his life painting and teaching Mark Daily believes he has only come into his own during the past 10 or 15 years." AskArt.com
