About The Deer Abstract
About Whitney Grey
(1950-2016), Mohave, Tohono O'odham and Akimel O'odham)  Grey was born in Sacaton, Arizona, not far from his current city of residence, Scottsdale.  For his art training Grey attended the Institute of American Indian Arts, the University of New Mexico and the Community Film Workshop and Anthropological Film Center.  

Known for his watercolors, sculptures and murals, this artist taught at both the Navajo Community College and at the Southwestern Indian Poly Technical Institute in photography, cinematography and painting.  

His work has been shown at the Lovena Ohl Gallery and his work was included in a juried show at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C.  On several occasions he exhibited his paintings in Germany, France and England.
