About The Seminole Stomp Dance

On the back of the painting is text as follows:

Seminole Stomp Dance

"This is a celebration dance that was started after the 1800's.  The seminoles celebrated by dancing around a fire. The dancing is started by the coming of the new moon. As they danced they sang to the great spirit for giving them just enough rain and sunshine for their crops that grew well."

An attached label indicates this painting was produced by Matthew Harjo, grade 11, attending Talequah High.
