About The Peruvian Women Toiling with Potatoes

What you cannot see in this luscious painting are the multiple skirts worn by women in Peru's extremely cold climate.  Layering of clothes help keep all of its citizens warm.

About Victor Martinez
(Born 1932) Originally from Peru, his art teacher was built in, as his father Victor Manuel Martinez Malaga was an artist.  Formal art training began at the Regional School of Fine Arts followed by his attendance at the National School of Fine Arts in Lima, Peru.

Martinez moved to the United States in 1998. Currently he resides in Scottsdale, Arizona where he continues to paint, participating yearly in the Celebration of Fine Arts Show held in Scottsdale over a period of three months.
