About the Artist | Husband and wife jewelers from Zuni pueblo, each born in 1943 are particularly known for their saddle ring design. Celia would set each carefully shaped cabochon stone, while Davis performed the silversmithing portion of their creations. Recognition for their jewelry arose as early as 1962. Who's Who in Zuni Jewelry, page 51, provides examples of the Nieto's artistry as well as photographs of them taken close to the book's publication date of 1980. |
