About the Artist | (1808-1884) Born in London, Henry Bryan Hall became an engraver as well as a portrait painter here in the United States. After moving to New York in 1850, he founded the firm of H.B. Hall and Sons. The first produced images of celebrities from American colonial and revolutionary history for a private club in New York and for Philadelphia collectors. The artist also painted miniature portraits on ivory. |
