About the Artist

(1946-2012) A Cherokee artist who sold his first painting for $4, as a child, Bill Rabbit's work matured as the artist continued to paint.

Over the years Rabbit received artistic recognition.  He was identified as a Cherokee National Treasure, as a Five Civilized Tribes Master Artist and I.A.C.A. Artist of the Year.  He also received the Cherokee Honor Societies Medal of Honor Award.
