(Born 1938, deceased 2005 Navajo) Nelson Dodge Shirley (Hashkay-ha-nah), a designer, illustrator, draftsman and painter chose to work in gouache, watercolor, pastel, graphite and charcoal. Frequently Shirley's compositions have a humorous edge. Shirley's father was a recognized professional artist as well, Charles Keetsie Shirley.
