|About the Artist||
(Born 1943) Lillian Pitt's tribal affiliations are Warm Springs Yakama and Wasco. Known as a mask artist using ceramics and mixed media, she as received recognition such as the Governor's Award for the Arts in Oregon in 1990.
First inspired by Northwest Coast masks that she owned, depicting both human and animal images.
Pitt has been profiled in Native Peoples and in Dawn Reno's book Contemporary Native American Artists.
