About the Artist | (Born 1950) Gwen is an installation artist whose work explores the environment as a subject matter. Gwen Curry's works focus on flora and fauna, both living and extinct. The artist earned her BFA at the University of Victoria in British Columbia between 1968 and 1974. Her MFA was completed in 1978 at Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ. Her media is diverse and includes printmaking, drawing, large mixed-media work and sculpture. Currently a resident of Brentwood Bay, British Columbia, she taught in the visual arts department of the University of Victoria from 1978-1994. Curry has participated in almost 100 group and solo exhibits in Canada, the United States and Europe. Her work is represented in public, private and corporate collections. |
