About Emma Nez

Emma John Nez was active from the 1950's forward making weavings.  This Navajo woman was born in 1945.  

This weaver used handspun and commercial yarn, aniline and vegetal dyes.  She is known for her pictorial compositions feauring Navajo rodeos, horses, human figures, pickup trucks, horse trailers, cattle, clouds as well as diamonds in a row.

She is referenced in Gregory Schaaf's book American indian Textiles 2,000 Artist Biographies.
