- About Michael McCarthy
D. Michael McCarthy was born in Los Angeles, California in 1951. He later combined his attraction to artworks positioned in fine art museums to his love of natural outdoor settings to become a Southwestern landscape painter.
McCarthy has been invited to participate in Artist in Residence programs in several national parks, twice serving as Artist in Residence at Glacier National Park. In 1998 he was named International Peace Park Artist of the Year. His work is included in the permanent collection of the National Park Service.
McCarthy is routinely represented by the El Prado Gallery in Sedona, Arizona. The above biography was absorbed from their gallery website.
