World War II Plunder Database

Curious to investigate potential family property absorbed by the Nazis in France and in Belgium from 1933 until the end of World War II ???

Roughly 20,000 objects ranging from abstract art to 18th century furniture and from medieval crucifixes to African masks are listed, roughly half of which has not been returned.  The lists can be searched by artist, owner, inventory number and medium or one can review 260 collections.  There are artworks by Picasso, da Vinci, van Gogh, Cranach and Vermeer, as well as lesser known artists.

Use the tool bar at the top of the first page to expedite searching.  The Inventory Listing below in blue text reveals the original hand-written notebooks in German.
