Ask your framer about “overstock molding”.
Interior designers can order an excessive amount of molding. It is often distinctive in appearance. This out of the ordinary molding is not likely to fly out your framer’s door, so it might be discounted just to keep it from becoming the remainder stock that remains for decades.
Also, mats can be the most expensive element in framing. Select one mat and then ask for a “V” groove treatment. This will be less costly than triple mats and will lend a subtle, tailored look to your framing resolution.
