A major exhibition heralding American Indian flat art opens 17 May 2009 at the Wheelwright Museum in Santa Fe, running through 18 April of 2010. Featured artists include Narcisco Abeyta, Fred Kabotie, Velino Herrera, Allan Houser, Andrew Tsinajinnie, Pablita Velarde, Sybil Yazzie.
SavvyCollector has proudly offered and sold paintings by each of these artists with the one exception, Sybil Yazzie. This exhibition is likely to stimulate interest in paintings by these artists as well as others working in similar styles during the 20th century.
Also, an upcoming book on the artist, Quincy Tahoma (1921-1956) could increase the number of those clambering to own one of a limited pool of paintings available by this short-lived Navajo artist.
