Opening April 4, 2025 at the Heard Museum of Art in Phoenix, Arizona, six (6) decades of Haozous’ sculpture, painting, prints and jewelry will be presented. Often social commentary has been the thrust of his work, at times biting, sometimes internally reflective and tender.

Warm Springs Chiricahua Apache born 1943, the son of a sculptor/ painter, Allan Houser, Bob Haozous chose to depict the philosophical meaning of being Indigenous in the postmodern world.
My admiration for this artist’s work remains steady over multiple decades.
