About the Artist

(1919-2010) Robert S. Oliver, was an Arizona artist who was a Life Member of both the Arizona Watercolor Association and the Arizona Artists Guild. A painter as well as an architect, Oliver was a member emeritus of the American Institute of Architects as well as a Signature Member of the American Watercolor Society, the National Watercolor Society and the Western Federation of Watercolor Artists.

Author of The Sketch (1979), The Sketch in Color (1983), The Sketch in Color (1986), The Complete Sketch (1989) and The Complete Sketch (2003), Oliver works in mixed media, watercolor and acrylic on paper and canvas.

Oliver earned a Master of Arts in Architecture University of California at Berkeley and a Master of Fine Arts Institute Allende at San Miguel de Allende in Mexico.
